Block The Valley LInk Transmission Project

Valley Link Transmission, that noble brainchild of Dominion Energy, is charging ahead with its 115-mile, 765 kV monster of a power line, slicing straight through the tender heart of Central Virginia like a hot knife through butter, from Campbell County all the way to Culpeper. Because nothing says “progress” quite like juicing up Northern Virginia’s gluttonous data centers while the locals get to wave goodbye to their actual lives and livelihoods. Corporate greed? Meet your new patron saint. And right now, these paragons of virtue are in full eminent-domain mode, kindly “acquiring” your private land so they can plant a forest of 160-foot steel giants along a 200-foot-wide scar that’ll cheerfully flatten every tree, farm, and scrap of sanity in its way. These bad boys pack the punch of six ordinary 345 kV lines—because apparently our “populated” little slice of Virginia needed the industrial-strength version. Why settle for normal when you can go full apocalypse?

Explore the proposed path of the Valley Link Transmission project. This interactive map highlights the industrial route that threatens our community's health, safety, and natural landscape. See exactly where the lines are planned to be installed and how close they come to your home.  The shaded or highlighted areas around the routes represent the proposed 200-foot-wide right-of-way (ROW) required for the line. Within this corridor, vegetation, trees, fences, and other features would be bulldozed to install and maintain the massive steel lattice towers (typically 135–160 feet tall) and conductors.

This is an attempted land grab by Valley Link of some 2,787 acres of OUR LAND.

TAKE ACTION TODAY

Empower your voice with our pre-drafted resources. Download, personalize, and send these documents to officials to demand accountability and prevent your property from being confiscated.

THE MOST IMPORTANT ACTION TODAY IS TO SEND THE NO TRESPASS NOTICE ASAP!!

No  Trespassing NOtification

VIRGINIA GOVERNOR

Virginia Representatives

Federal Officials

Under NO circumstances should you allow Valley Link personnel, contractors, or agents onto your property for any reason but especially to perform a detailed survey.  Do you really want them gathering evidence as to why the line must be on YOUR property ?  Valley Link is NOT a public utility company and has no right to be on your property for any reason.  If you received a letter from Valley Link, you are in the study area, the next variation on the route may affect you!  Every landowner that received a letter from Valley Link should send one of these as soon as possible via certified US mail.

When you click this button, your own email client will open with the 'TO' and 'SUBJECT' filled out.  It's up to you to write from YOUR heart the impact this monstrosity has on you and it might be nice to include that this is not for the public good but for data center profits.

Request to your elected state officials to help defeat this abomination.

The federal government enabled this with the 'Opportunity Zones'.  They need to help fix the unexpected consequence, confiscation of our land.  The President has said windmills and solar panels are ugly, well guess what?  These 160 ft towering monstrosities are OUR windmills and solar panels right in our front yard.

Latest Community Updates

Health & Safety Concerns

The Valley Link Transmission project brings significant long-term implications for our community's well-being and the local environment. Understanding these risks is crucial for our advocacy.

Electromagnetic Fields

Search the Internet and you'll find lots of concerns regarding chronic exposure to high-voltage electromagnetic radiation and its potential links to long-term health issues for residents living in proximity to the proposed line.  You aren't going to find the research on this site.  The bottom line is this: Why take a chance with yours or your loved ones health?   Show me ONE Dominion, AEP, Valley Link, or TransSource company executive that lives under or even NEAR one of these 765KV power lines!

Have you listened to what a 765KV line sounds like 24 hours a day, 365 days a year ?  It is horrifying!  Click here for a little demonstration.

Ecological Impact

The bulldozing of over 2,700 acres is going to clear cut forests, meadows, native fields and crop lands, not to mention many front & back yards.  I think we can all figure out that the impact and lasting scars of this project will be immense.  If you don't believe that, click here for a simple web search.
