It Just Doesn't Make a Lot of Sense

Ever since Dominion unveiled its Valley Link monstrosity back in February, the same glaring question has been on everyone's lips: Why the hell aren't you building these power plants closer to where the actual need is?
Culpeper Supervisor Bates cut straight through the nonsense at last Tuesday's board of supervisor's meeting: "It just doesn't make a lot of sense to go from Lynchburg to Ashburn and make everybody in between suffer for what's going on up in northern Virginia."
I'm sure this blindingly obvious question came up constantly at those carefully choreographed "community engagement" meetings—I know I fired it off myself. And just like clockwork, nobody got a real answer, exactly like the polished corporate non-answer we're getting here from Dominion Energy's PR guru Rob Richardson.
