ALL Routes Are On The Table

As I so cheerfully noted earlier, ALL Valley Link transmission line routes—every last one—are still very much “on the table.” And yes, the whole glorious menu will be served up to the State Corporation Commission (SCC) later this summer/fall like a bad all-you-can-eat buffet nobody asked for.
First I heard it from the sharp folks at Waldo & Lyle. Then, because I’m an optimist, I went straight to the source. Called my favorite frenemy, none other than Dominion’s PR Guru, Rob Richardson himself. Bless his heart, he actually called me back. Pro tip: the Block Valley Link free 765kV ringtone worked charmingly, ten out of ten!
We had a perfectly civil chat about the world’s simplest yes/no question: Are literally ALL the routes—old, new, imaginary, whatever—getting dumped on the SCC? Spoiler: the answer was a resounding YES. I asked to record for posterity; Rob politely declined, because of course he did.
Two delightful nuggets that somehow didn’t make the final polished script:
Rob graciously admitted that Lane Carr’s Goochland performance last night—where she claimed only the “new” routes would be considered—was, and I quote, “confusing.” Not misleading, mind you. Just… confusing. How clumsy of them.
Once this next round of “community engagement” theater wraps, we get treated to even MORE routes. Thousands more central Virginians will wake up mid-summer to discover fresh red lines carving up their land like surprise modern art. Hope your beach vacation doesn’t get ruined!
Anyway, behold the screenshot from the follow-up text Rob so thoughtfully coordinated with the “routing experts” on hand, that's not a guess, he literally told me that on the phone call. Read it and weep (or laugh, depending on how dead inside you are). Bottom line, crystal clear: ALL routes are going to the SCC.
So if any of you were foolish enough to exhale in relief… inhale again, buttercup. We’re all still squarely in the crosshairs. Welcome to the club. Membership is mandatory.

Where can I get a yard sign, this Valley link project seems completely focused on fixing the energy problem by stomping on rural Virginia. I hate that they hide behind the non-existant company of Valley Link. Their commercials make me sick.
