As we dig deeper into the long-term effects of ramming an industrial high-voltage transmission corridor through central Virginia—right next to homes, schools, and farms—maybe it’s time to actually look at the research and experts on EMF instead of pretending the issue doesn’t exist.
First, though, a quick refresher on how Valley Link’s representatives have been “addressing” these concerns in public.
This short video has two clips worth remembering. In the first, from the Orange County Board of Supervisors meeting on March 24th, their rep helpfully explains that EMF harms are just “rumors.” In the second, during their recent virtual meeting on the additional routes, they assure everyone (with PR guru Rob Richardson right there nodding along) that you’re perfectly safe as long as you stay outside the 200-foot right-of-way. Bookmark it. Should come in handy over the next few weeks.
